Ida and I just switched Grand Voyages (Olivia is right this GV is a great deal) from the Circumnavigation of Australia to Miami to Sydney.
Learned yesterday that our CD (as scheduled) will be John Barron, Massimo Armani will be Gen Mgr until Oct 21st when Michael Coughlan will take over. Ray Solaire will take over from John Barron at the end of November.

I am so glad to hear that John Barron will be with us! Haven't seen him in years, since he and his wife left to start their family. And that Michael Coughlan will be aboard! Look forward to seeing you and Ida again, Wes! haha, she helped me greatly with some shopping at the end of our last cruise when I had some credits to get rid of, and through the window to the gift shop when it was closed, pointed to just where I should go! it worked wonderfully and I ended up with a bill at the end.

John Barron hope that stays the schedule stays same I would love for him to be onboard that would be fantastic. 'We are spending three nights with Ralph and June in Maui prior to embarkation. Ralph is on the board of property there and goes every November. The timing was perfect right before his meetings. Several of the other board members are clients also so I will enjoy seeing them as well. Wish I was staying on more than one segment but since I am doing the 36 night around Australia I could not add to this cruise as well.

Olivia, Ida is banned from Regent boutique's :). We look forward to cruising with you again--we are on from Miami to Auckland (and we turn Platinum on this voyage)
Peggy, Ida and I also look forward to cruising with Jerry and you--seems like we have been vicariously traveling the world together now for a decade plus.
Ngaire, Jason told me that John and the GM schedules are placeholders and of course family events could change plans. Do hope John
is our CD.
Marc; we will miss cruising with Arlene and you again but you will have a spectacular Grand Voyage event to enjoy.

On board the Mariner now, CD Lorraine confirmed John Barron will be on board as the CD this fall.
Anna, we are in 736.
Is anyone else that is disembarking in Papeete leaving a day early?
We arranged to disembark Papeete, Nov 14th vs Nov 15th. We will only miss breakfast on Nov 15, as we will disembark the ship about 8:30pm Nov 14 to catch our near midnight flight on Air Tahiti Nui's new 787-9. Embarking the nite prior to ending the cruise enables us to enjoy two excursions and dinner on the Mariner in Papeete on Nov 14th (tho we have been here before twice on the PG) then missing near 15 hours on Papeete from disembarkationNov 15th at 9 am. until the ATN flight leaves.

Wes, we're on the same flight (TN 102) from Papeete on the 14th, but on our reservation the plane is listed as an A343 -- when did it change? I like the 787 much better.

That's great news! Like you, whenever possible, we leave the night before when there's a late flight and we have an overnight in port. That avoids the long day with little to do and nowhere to put your luggage. We've been to Papeete a number of times and even as beautiful as it is, we don't need to spend another day there. See you in October--save a night to have dinner with us.

I regret to say I’m unable to take this cruise. My fault, I failed to get my air in time and now nothing left to get myself off the island for several days. Lesson learned, when flying in or out of PPT on a cruise, take care of Air right away!

Sorry this happened to you, Olivia. I had a similar experience when we went to PPT. I purposely bought the 2 for 1 business class through AMEX because it was changeable and refundable. What I found was that when we decided to go in early there were no seats available within a week of our planned departure. Lesson learned the hard way!

darn, just lost my whole message I thought I sent. I booked cruise with Ngaire that's before HULA and got my air into MIA, and out of HNL, thanks to help from adrenn on a non-stop to EWR which saved hours and hours in flight times and layovers. Have been in touch with both Peggy and Wes, and we will have dinner together first night, and on Jerry's birthday and Wes's birthday for a start. And I was able to get a free anniversary night via IHG for the same hotel Regent is using! So Peggy, Jerry and I will have a grand reunion night before embarkation in Miami! I'm a happy camper. We don't have a name or a roll call but maybe you'll get some pre-HULA news from time to time.

Just as a side note "who" is on a cruise changes A LOT.
I get paperwork from Corporate about two weeks out. Then I get onboard and it is not as it was supposed to be. On our last cruise Elda was leaving for vacation when we boarded. Guess who turned up on the second leg - Elda. She was recalled. Best information comes straight from the people on the ship because they have a schedule but so often they get moved to another ship because something happens.
So now I have kind of "given up" on trying to figure out who will be onboard! Wes was so right with his (as scheduled) comment.

Absolutely concur with Peggy, having Olivia join us will increase our "fun" quotient exponentially.
Yes, our small group of five has plans to dine together often--Peggy let me know they are Navy--she promised at dinner that Jerry and she would use silverware :)
p.s., that darn Regent virus struck Ida and I again this week--only cure--the Flu shot err Regent booking shot--we booked yesterday a delightful World Cruise segment next March Singapore to Dubai, anyone else booked? Myanmar is the highlight (near three port days)

Interesting article on the impact of the Volcano eruption on the Big Island. Apparently, Volcano National Park is now closed. The article does not say when it will reopen. Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park announced the park would remain closed until further notice. However, our voyage is five+ months away, so the park could reopen. We are booked on this excursion and will call Regent to change on Monday.
