Anyone have good or bad experience sending luggage ahead to your Regent ship through LuggageFree or any other service?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

We have shipped luggage a number of times, never a problem. Most recently we shipped via Luggagefree from our home in northern California to Venice, and the bags were in our stateroom when we arrived on board. Of course, it's not cheap, but it relieves a lot of concern about luggage being lost.

I've used Luggage Free as well and agree with Tim - not inexpensive but have not had a problem. They go out of their way to make everything as easy as possible. And it certainly does make traveling far easier.

Thank you for the responses. We signed up for the service and think it'll eliminate some of the hassle in travel nowadays.

Your endorsements should earn you discounts next time you use LuggageFree - but probably won't!

Has anyone used sendmybag.com? Luggage free is $9.95 per pound plus $50 pickup fee from ship. Sendmybag.com is just $189 for 33 pounds; quite a bit cheaper. Anyone with experience with this company?

thanks,

Marc

Used Luggage Free and had to replace luggage - cases came home torn and broken. Luggage Free was unreceptive to honor an insurance claim. However it was nice not to hassle with luggage while traveling.

I had the exact same experience with Luggage Free. My bag arrived to the ship completely crushed and with telescoping handle broken off. Because it was Briggs and Riley, Luggage Free wanted me to send it back to them. Briggs and Riley wouldn't honor "lifetime guarantee" and Luggage Free refused to do anything. Hard to believe, but we still use them for the convenience of not having to deal with heavy bags.

Wow, not much positive response on this subject from our well travelled group. I would love to be able to ship my luggage in advance, but not yet, at almost $500 for a 50 lb. bag, particularly when it comes home damaged and then even Briggs and Riley wouldn't cover the damage. I recently bought a big suitcase from them precisely for what I thought was a lifetime guarantee that I read on LCT. Sounds just crazy to me that there's no recourse when you are paying dearly for SERVICE on both sides, the shipping and the luggage. Sheesh! Maybe not so bad just to get a private driver from doorstep to doorstep and carry a cane as well as your baggage, and tip well along the way.

We used Luggage Free for Kiwi. Had no issues outbound and it was a pleasure traveling with carry ons and seeing the bags in our room after the long flights to Auckland. On the way home it was a different story-it took us over an hour to make contact with the rep after disembarking in Singapore. No damage to the bags, however. Interestingly, I contacted them about Batik, but they did not recommend shipping to Indonesia.

We have used Luggage Free for the last six or eight trips to Europe and Asia and have had nothing but wonderful service. On the other hand we used Luggage Concierge to Hong Kong, before we started to use Luggage Free. Upon arrival at the Hotel our bags were brought up to the room. When I opened my bag, most of my clothing and shoes were missing....They refused to do anything to cover the theft. I wouldn't let this dampen our trip. After I got over the shock of seeing a empty suitcase, I had a great time replacing a few things as Hong Kong is a fun shopping city, submitted my bills to Luggage Concierge, NOTHING!!!
