Any safari newbies like Joan and me should check out Costco. They have Columbia style safari shirts manufactured by Dakota Grizzly. The shirts seem to be well made and come in several colors. They cost $20. Costco also has Columbia style convertible pants made by BC Clothing for $20.

Search LL Bean online with "insect shield" and "no fly zone" for clothes that repel insects. Not $20, though. Costco is my second favorite store, after LL Bean.

Do not buy the sun hats I saw recently at Costco. The brims of the hats are too large. Tried them last summer for kayaking and they interfered with activities such as sitting!
