In addition to the photo albums I made up for the three-day HoDown, I just completed a video covering the event and if you have about 20 minutes to spare, you may want to take a looksy.

The video comes with music so if you're at work you may want to mute the sound. In addition to photos you have already seen, there is new video added.

The video requires QuickTime Player to run the video and it is a free download should you not have it. Here's a comment a friend made about the download:

My trouble with the Apple web site is resolved. When I clicked on after downloading Quick Time there appeared a very small and narrow message at the top of the screen that said something like "this web site wants to run this video for you on our program if that is ok with you." When you clicked "ok" a warning message appeared saying something like "do you really trust this program." I clicked "yes" and bingo we were in Quick Time. The next time I logged into the Apple site I didn't have to go through this procedure. So all is well that ends well. The language they used on this tiny one line message was in very small print and written in computer geek. What they should have said is "Hey, dude, we think you've had the brains to install QT. If you have, click here. You'll be able to view the video and you won't hear from us again in the future."

Here's the link to the video.

Here's a link to all the HoDown photo albums:

Cheers! Ray & Penny
p.s.: If you care to, you can also play the video on your phone by clicking on "small" rather than "medium."

Ray, I just took the time to look at the whole thing (it stopped now and then, I just kept pushing the forward arrow, and if it went back to the beginning, oh, I don't know what I did, but soldiered on)....so many special moments to enjoy again for those of us there. OMG, that clip with Marcie shoving Tom on to the dance floor with Suzette at Aloft was priceless, just wish it had lasted longer, as I think I had gone to bed, but had heard about it! And so many birthdays have been celebrated lct style...Ron's was just the latest! Best part of all was the end, when you put in the quote about all kinds of ships, but "friend"ships being the best. How very true, 'cause we don't even need to be on a ship to continue to grow those! Thank you, thank you!

Ray that was incredible. I absolutely love it not only were the pictures and videos great but the music and the wording you added was really creative and made it such a pleasure to watch.

I loved the VERY last text but everyone needs to watch it to see the ending. Brillant.

Hey:

You guys warmed this videotographer's heart. Thanks so much for letting me know you enjoyed the video. It truly was a labor of love because each time I opened up the program to edit, I started smiling all over again. What a neat bunch the L.C.T. family is!

Cheers! Ray

You need to load the program QUICK TIME it will tell you that on the link, easy to do. Then I messed up as once I loaded Quick Time but I did not see the script line on a yellow bar near the top of the screen that you have to click to authorize the program to run.

YOU MUST see it Marcie, Tom has evidence that you encourage him to do his "dirty dancing".

As information, I did some cosmetic work on the Ho-Down video and re-submitted it primarily because I just wanted to as I'm still learning and see things I want to change. If you liked the old version, you won't be upset with the updated version. Frankly I probably wouldn't have even written this note about the change but then thought that perhaps some people were traveling when I first posted the video and the thread went into the sleep mode before they got back. And perhaps we have some "newbies" on board LCT that never saw what fun we had.

Cheers! Ray

Kathy:

I wish I could be of help but I never see what is happening at the other end of my videos, especially since my computer came with QuickTime.

Do hope someone on the board can help you as I'm sure somebody else has had this problem and overcame it.

Hi Betty, Marcie & Ngaire: Thanks!

Cheers! Ray
I make a movie at a drop of a hat anymore so much so, family members grimace, especially my grandchildren. What fun! Right now I'm gathering photos of our wedding along with very limited 8mm movie. Rather fun to see pictures of old and fondly reminisce of those that are no longer with us.

Kathy, I didn't have Quick Time originally and couldn't watch Ray's video either. I just googled quick time free download or something like that and installed it. It's very easy.
