I always get an email from B&K letting me know when they're going out but haven't heard anything yet.

The tickets now come DIRECTLY from Regent so you wont be getting an email Marcie they will just turn up and surprise you.

Yes, I must admit when they started this I was quite pleased. It took Debbie most of the day to just handle tickets.

Debbie was not happy though she LOVED contacting people about their tickets, you would have thought she lost her best friend. I had been trying to get her to give that duty to some else but she would never give up that responsibility.

I have her on so many new projects I think she is fine with it now.

I, for one, will miss having a "real" excuse to talk to Debbie! If she can adjust, so will I! :(

Since only the last 10 of 23 days of the cruise are actually happening, I think the cruise name should be shortened to:

ING

Maybe Ngaire can trade in her Leif Erickson pins for an orange lion. :D

Marcie, I'm glad you and Tom will be on the second segment. What about the others who were booked on both segments? Are you taking ING or did you cancel the entire cruise? Tom.

Mark, that pin will be a collector's item like the Dewey Beats Truman papers. Marcie will pay for her next cruise selling the surplus on e-bay! Weren't the Vikings in Iceland?

No, Minneapolis. :D

Actually, the Vikings discovered Iceland; it was apparently uninhabited before their arrival.

Mark, I knew there was a reason we called it VIKING! Guess there's no need to go back to figure out a combo for the first leg that is no longer!

Thanks Joanna. Yes, we're still on #2. But I must admit it's a little hard to get excited about the cruise when no one is 100% sure it will sail.

The Voyager doesn't get into drydock for another week and a half. So it will probably be at least two weeks before we know if the repairs will be completed in time for ING.

I haven't made any tour arrangements or booked any transfers yet because I might have to turn around and cancel them.

I'm also concerned about our air. We bought round trip tickets from DC to London on US Air and one way from London to Reykjavik on Iceland Air. Even if Regent pays the cancellation fees, I'm not sure we'd be able to re-use the US Air tickets within a year. And I doubt we would be able to re-use the Iceland Air ticktets at all.

I'm not complaining but all this hanging over our heads takes away from the usual anticipation when you're less than six weeks away from a major cruise. Tom.

Good news is that it is a go, they are working hard on reorganizing all those on the back to back to Reykjavik. The ONLY thing that would stop it is if they find in dry dock it is just not possible to complete the repairs. They do have a good length of time to finish repairs arriving in dry dock on April 19th.

I leave for Africa again next week so I have bought my new air and am now only thinking positive thoughts. Plan on seeing everyone on May 21, we can "break in the new refurbished pod"

We're holding off on booking our transfers and tours in Reykjavik too, Tom, until the ship is in the dry-dock and repairs under way. We may ship a suitcase to our hotel in Reykjavik because we are changing planes/airlines at Heathrow, so I need to check the lead time on that. We did that last year to Istanbul and it didn't take long at all from when they picked it up at our house - in fact it arrived way before we really wanted it to.
