Ah, memories of Nessie hunting! We did this with our son when he was 7 years old! Such pretty country.

I like the sound of your adventure, Ngaire, sounds great. We should all learn to cruise out of our carry-ons!

Ngaire,

David was on SAND with us last year - he joined Regent because of commication with a few of us here on LCT or CC; Lorraine Barron (no relation to John and Lydsay) is a WONDERFUL CD! She was on the Navigator in 2003 with Joann and I when we did New England. She is an amazing singer and very personable. We just loved her! She'd be great on CROSS too!

Ngaire, I think that you could almost leave your suitcase on board the ship now. Why have to bother with this luggage issue any more. I bet they'd store it for you.

It sure sounds like fun!! We've never been to Scotland before but looking at Ken's beautiful pictures sure makes me want to go! It looks gorgeous!

Sounds like you have a great crew onboard with Capt. Dag, Patrick, Laurens, Tobias (The Best Chef!!) Tell them Hello from the Matassa's!

Keep having a ball!!

We had a great dinner tonight for the group in La Verandah. I think this is the way to go just do it all in La Verandah. Have a cocktail party first and then dinner here for the group. We had a great time. Ken will post some pictures. We drew 8 names for the free cruise. The notable LCT people were Carolyn and Don, Joe and Marilyn, Ralph and Carol.

Tours to Loch Ness and castles today in the area. The best tour seems to be the one that had the falcony exhibition. They birds were flying right over the heads of the passengers and everyone seemed to just love the experience. They all loved the castle also. The tour was called Dunrobin Castle and Lovely Dornoch. Wish I had gone on that tour.

Tomorrow MAYBE bags. They have been found and arrived in Edinburgh today. It the transfer works to Portree we will have them tomorrow. Problem is that the Isle of Sky/Portree is little remote so not holding my breath.

I hope your bags arrive. By all means, have a glass of Talisker while on the Isle of Skye-the only distillery there and one of the single malts which gives Johnny Walker Black its flavor. I am so jealous! Great pictures, Ken.

Loving the reports and photos (especially the people ones).

If your bags don't arrive, maybe they can just transfer them to the Mariner for PANDA.

I GOT BAGS!!! Arrived around 4.00 pm today. So we are very happy to have a full closet. Been working so well almost thought we should leave them packed but our free laundry ceases now we have bags.

Drove the country side today on the way to visit a castle. It was so pretty. Rolling hills covered with lush green grass and pockets just covered with bright purple heather. The roads are narrow and the taxi could not really stop and let us take a good picture unfortunately. Lots of lamb everywhere I started getting hungry. Little overcast but not raining and not windy so that is good weather for this area. We are now looking at blue sky overhead. Ireland is supposed to be great weather tomorrow.

We have been here before and spent time in the quaint little town of Portree. So after lunch we did the "lazy" thing again and stayed on board. Linda and Debbie went ashore and my bags came on the same tender as they did. She called me to tell me before the doorbell rang and "there they were".

I meant to post last night that all the LCT people got a rave review. Several staff members including Captain Dag all said they really enjoyed our cocktail parties and dinners as everyone that came with me was so nice and fun people. They wanted to know how I managed to always have such great clients. The staff must have been discussing it before the dinner as it was unusual for so many staff members to say the exact same thing. So this is really KUDOS to all of you rather than me for being the happy positive people that you all are.

Hi Everyone.

We had the BEST day in Liverpool

The Voyager was the very first ship to dock at a brand new pier. Liverpool is undergoing a resurgence with many new tourist attractions currently being built.

One of the newest attractions is the Albert Docks. There is a docking area in the middle of the complex for sailboats and Liverpool is a stop on some major sailing races. Around the docks are all types of tourist attractions. Shops, restaurants and museums. These include the Beatles Museum, the Maritime and Slavery Museum and the Tate Museum.

ALL ABOUT THE BEATLES
We purchased Beatles mop top wigs and round glasses in Dallas and packed them for the trip. Linda, Debbie, Ken and Ngaire – being the fab four (or more the “fake” four). Ken made the best Beatle he looked hilarious with his wig and glasses. We planned a B&K Beatles picture shoot.

We started off with a visit to the Beatles Museum at Albert Docks. This was well done and we enjoyed it immensely. Entrance fee was about $20 a person. The only problem was they would not allow pictures inside and we saw so many great backdrops for our Beatles shot. Outside there was a “yellow submarine” painting which made a good backdrop. So we donned our wigs and glasses and took pictures. A group of young Italians guys asked to be in a shot we had a lot of fun with them.

We went back to the ship for a quick lunch and then off to the Cavern club area and more Beatles mania. Every time we turned around there was another picture opportunity. We just kept our wigs on and took many pictures. They are building “The Hard Days Night Hotel” and outside were huge black and white pictures of each of the four Beatles. We decided to go into the Beatles store to buy black Beatles tee shirts to wear with our Beatle wigs and glasses to the Voyager’s Beatles party tonight.

Lo and behold who walked in but THE BEATLES.

At first it was a shock as first came Paul, then George, then John. They were actually a group that impersonates the Beatles but the resemblances were amazing. Particularly Paul and George. They were a great group of guys and we took shots with them and they were so obliging. Ringo was missing so we got a great shot of Ken as the missing Ringo. Then finally Ringo turned up. Wait until you see pictures of this group it is quite remarkable. Just a lucky break we were in the right place at the right time. Ken will try to post some shots soon if we get a little bit of time.

Liverpool itself is really a neat port stop. The Cathedrals here are amazing. The Anglican Church was having a service as we walked in and the choir was incredible. The church was one of the most impressive Cathedrals I have seen.

Outside Liverpool is the town of Chester, a walled city where the Romans built Fortress Deva and the town is full of Tudor buildings. I wished we had time to visit here as well but there was not time to do everything.

The new Albert Docks houses a museum that is free of charge. I am NOT a museum person but this was truly an incredible museum. Beautifully done and covered the history of Liverpool, slavery, the White Star Line with the Titantic, the second world war, and also a maritime exhibit about ship building. It was done in a way that made it interesting with all types of exhibits including wax models and re-creations. Not just lots of glass cases with exhibits.

There are many buildings with great architecture. I wished we had another day here.

So tonight we embarrass ourselves with our Beatles tee shirts and wigs. Hope they let me back on the ship after this performance!!!

Pictures will follow.
