Wow Don, all that weight and 6 homes too! My three Beverly Hills Realtor Clients would be most jealous. Actually, I bet Jim B, Claudia and Todd would be happy to sell 6 homes in a week too!

I just got back from the Doctor and after 2 months of not smoking 2 packs of Winston 100's a day the following has happened:

My BP is 120/80 as opposed 130/100.

I've lost 6 pounds. Which no one can seem to explain.

I no longer feel that I have to take a nap after lunch. Sleep much better at night.

He says a lot more health perks are to be expected.

Chip, that's great! How I wish I could get motivated to quit those Winston 100's as well. I promise not to smoke in front of you during my photography lessons in Iceland and Norway. Your girls must be very proud of you!

I do hearby pledge not to become a smoking nazi since I was on the receiving end of that on my last cruise.

Olivia, I never thought I could do it. I like to smoke. My kids just dared me sort of over Christmas and here I am today. It ain't over yet. There are still those momments, but they now quickly go away.

Chip, I'm SO PROUD of you!!! :app: :app: :app: You are doing fantastic. I've been thinking alot about you and wondering how it was going. You even lost 6 lbs!!!! Can't beat that. You have been rewarded for your efforts :)

Don, you have a picture!!! That's a really nice photo of you and Diana - love the clear blue sky behind you. Kind of makes you want to be on a cruise ship  Also, you should be really pleased with yourself about being on target!! You are getting very close to your goal for your cruise on the Silver Whisper in May. Something tells me you are going to make it!!!!!!

Well, I'm now down another 2 lbs!!! (12 total so far.) I'm back to doing my morning workouts, just favoring the bad foot. I've also been sticking to South Beach with a few slips here & there. I like the new lifestyle. It FEELS so good! I've also been trying on some clothes I'd like to wear on PIP and they are fitting better. Yeah!!

Great work Cyndi! You indeed are an inspiration. I so far am doing nothing but holding my own, i.e., not gaining. But it's how you feel, isn't it? Hold that thought, Kathy!

Cyndi, that is great. You are doing so fantastic and even with being injured no less.

As for the picture, what you can't see in the picture is the Duomo in Florence right behind us. I thought it was appropriate because we are going back in 2 months. Even more motivation.

On thing I find with not smoking is I've become short tempered. That's just not me. I hope this goes away.

Chip, it should go away eventually, or at least not be as obvious (to you). I've never been long on tolerance, but I don't find myself biting people's heads off any more frequently now than when I smoked.

I tried to be good on my second trip, but I wasn't as good as I am at home. No scales for me this week, but I can tell by my clothes that I haven't gained very much if any.

I'm so happy for those of you who are still doing good!

Pam , Thanks for your thoughts. I don't bite people's heads off, I just want to all the time. I hope this a phase with all of this.

I had a hard day yesterday. I wanted to buy a pack sooo bad. But I didn't. I'm not asking for anyone to feel sorry for me. It's the drill and I know it. I'm just thankful I can vent here once in a awhile.

Note to Cyndi,

I sent you a private mail message a couple of days ago! Nothing important or secretive!! Just in regards to the Mark Levin topic Lawrence started the other day.

Sorry to interrupt your group postings here! It sounds like you all are doing great. Congratulations! I am trying to lose 10 pounds throught Weight Watchers but I haven't been keeping count of the points so I am not doing as well as I should.

Chip, Kathy is right - Vent all you want!!! You've earned the right. Hang in there!

Kathy, I loved Chip's trophy!!

Don, your hidden Florence picture must be working for the motivation, because you're doing so great! In the background of my picture is the Navigator in the Sydney Circular Quay. You can't really see it in the picture, but I know it's there and it makes me smile with very fond memories.

Ginny, thanks for the congrats. Hang in there with Weight Watchers. It's supposed to be one of the best programs around. You've got a few months longer than I do to go till your next cruise, but remember - it comes very fast!!! I can't believe it's 10 1/2 weeks till mine.

Pam, if your clothes still fit as well as they did before your trip then you did EXCELLENT!!!! Especially with the severe stress you've been under. Good girl!!!

Wendy, you are absolutely right in that it's about how you feel. That is the most important thing of all. Holding our own with our weight gets harder every year. So consider yourself very successful!!!

Rough week. We have had some cruisin buddies in from out of town. That meant missing my workouts for 3 days and my legs are really getting sore again and I can't make it there tomorrow either because of church and work.

Monday is going to be rough. Not only with weigh in, but getting back on the bike.

Also, we got into it a little bit with my friend. We cannot convince him to sail RSSC or Silversea. He is just being bullheaded. I think our cruising days with them are over, because we can't go back to mass market, and they think people on RSSC and Silversea are snobbish, and he will not bend, when in reality he is the one being the snob!

We have tried to compromise to be able to sail together, but no he will not even try it. I told him that I would sail on an RCCL cruise with them, if he would agree to at least try an RSSC or Silversea cruise with us. It was an emphatic NO!!!

We still love them dearly, we will just have to find some other things to do together, rather than cruises.

Now I'm the one venting!!! Chip, you want to join in? LOL

Don, all I can say is - it's your friends' loss! That's too bad that they aren't willing to at least try RSSC or Silversea. Especially since being such good friends you would think they would listen to you. One of things I love most about RSSC (and hopefully someday Silversea) is that the people we cruised with (and of course all the people on this board) were such wonderful, down to earth, friendly and helpful people. Don't give up, they may come around eventually.

For your Monday weigh in, just do everything on our weigh in list and hope for the best. If the scales and legs on the bike don't cooperate, just take a big breath and have a fresh start! A slip or two are a part of life. I think that is the hardest thing for those of us who must watch our weight. We always have this all or nothing feeling about dieting. At least I tend to do that. I think I'm getting better about it tho. Good luck for Monday!!!

Thanks Cyndi and Masaki. At this point, I am through trying. I don't want to TALK THEM INTO IT. They need to want to do this on their own. Maybe a couple of bad experiences on the Mega ships will do it. I think they have just been fortunate so far, to not have any issues, but then maybe they just like being herded like cattle, served inferior food, having so so service and paying almost the same amount of money for the privilege.

Don, maybe your friends are the type that need to feel like it's THEIR idea. So maybe you are right about waiting for their next mass market cruise and your great cruises with RSSC & Silversea will be in the back of their mind for comparison.

Weigh-in went good today. YIPPEE! I am down another 3. That puts it over the 50 mark.

Last week, I had to buy a bucket of chlorine for the pool. I was really struggling carrying it to the backyard and then looked and saw that it weighed 40 lbs. It was a great reminder of how I felt before.

Where is everybody this week. Is has been beautiful here in Dallas/Ft. Worth this week. High today in the mid 80's the bradford pear trees are in full bloom and we spent the day yesterday working on the backyard garden and getting the pool ready. Well actually spent the afternoon in the hot tub reading travel books on Italy and France.

This morning I decided to take a peek at the scale, which I'm not supposed to do, but hey I felt light this morning. Does anybody else know what I mean? Well, I am down another 3 lbs and still have two days to go this week.

<img border="0" alt="[bounce]" title="" src="graemlins/ubbbounce2.gif" /> Must be all that exercise! LOL

Don, the reading in the hot tub made me verrrrrry jealous. The only thing that would have made it sound even sweeter, would be if you said you had a glass of vino in hand ;) What??? Vino is good for your heart!
