Some of you already know that my Brother in Law, (youngest sister's husband) is a Strength and Conditioning coach in the National Football League. Rock Gullickson. Rock has been with the New Orleans Saints the past 4 years and just signed a contract with the Packers. He called me last night and was very excited. 1. Just to get out of the NOLA situation and 2. Growing up he was a Packer Fan. Guess he even had a Bart Starr football uniform when he was about 9 years old. We are really excited for him and I just had to pass this along.

I hope that his experience is as great as was that of our son. He was a Strength and Conditioning coach in baseball.

Jim:
First of all, am glad you and Jan had such a super cruise. How nice it is to get away from snow/ice and enjoy some sun.
Sounds like your BIL got his dream job. Being happy in your work is certainly good for the heart. Congratulations to him!
Cheers! Ray

Jim What great news. Hope he still has cold weather clothing. Those cheese heads are a feisty lot. And your next cruise sounds wonderful.
BTW, Karen, congrats on the Steelers win.

Yes they will be moving to Green Bay. He gets to have this week off. Terry & Rock will fly to Green Bay Sunday night for Monday the 23rd. Coaches meetings and to look around and see if they can find a place. Only cold weather gear they have is from their days at Montana State in Bozeman while he was there in mid 1980's. I am sure they will be fine. Big change huh?

Yea Right!! When they were at the college level we could take a group with us and no problem getting tickets. Now NFL we have had to buy our own. Rock does receive 4 tickets but any more have to come from other coaches, players etc, which are not usually availible. Super Bowl Tickets? Not a chance.

Jim...is Rock related to the tennis Gullicksons?
I know they are from that neck of the woods.
Congratulations to him...we have "cheese heads" in our family. They will be very glad to hear the good news!

Jim, very exciting news! Even though we are technically in Michigan, we are only about 3 hours from Green Bay and I grew up in a family of Packer Backers. I'm sure your brother-in-law and his family will love the area. Congrats to all. Jacki

Jim, VERY VERY VERY cool! Congratulations to Rock. We sure are going through a lot of personnel changes right now, and I do believe these changes are for the best! Can't wait until next season!!!
I know he & Terry will be chilly for a while after living in the deep south, but there is certainly no place like Green Bay. The warmth of the people there will surround them!

Rock's parents are from the Moorehead Minnesota area. His Dad was Sports editor and his Mom was the around town editor for the news paper.

Whoo-hoo! Dave was born and raised in GB. Thus, we are huge Packers fans. We have 8 season tickets that we have kept in the family. It's good to hear that there's a professional in Green Bay to help the Packers bring themselves into another Superbowl. Hope he enjoys living there. Here's a tip: Tell him to check out Jake's for their pizza, Hansen's for their ice cream, and Titletown for a brew. GO PACK!!!

Yes, Jim! We get the Packers' "E-News" alerts - here is what our new coach says about Rock - very complimentary!!! GREEN BAY FINALIZES STRENGTH & CONDITIONING STAFF -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Green Bay Packers Thursday named Rock Gullickson strength and conditioning coach, Mark Lovat the assistant for strength and conditioning, and Brandon Johnson strength and conditioning assistant. Head Coach Mike McCarthy made the announcement. "Our players are the organization's most important investment," McCarthy said. "They already have some of the finest resources and traditions in all of sports, but they also need people to equal those standards. Rock is without a doubt one of those people. He's the best person for this job, and I consider this position as important as any on my staff. I've seen first-hand what he can do with professional athletes. Our players will be impressed."
