Hi, I have been lurking for about a month now. I must say this is the greatest board I've ever seen! Or perhaps I should re-word it to say the nicest people who make it such a great site. We are Judy & Bill from South Bend, IN. In my former life I was a travel agent (specializing in international & luxury travel) and an airline employee (yuk). Shortly after 9/11 I quit the airline job, took a year off work and got a dog, Max, a big, grumpy standard poodle. Last year Max got a sister, Lucy, a happy, bouncy standard poodle. Too busy with the dog kids for a paying job. I also volunteer as a CASA (court appointed special advocate). I currently have three cases involving seven children. Bill has a land developement company as well as an excavating company. He works at least six days a week. We have traveled pretty much all over the world. I did a Norway cruise about 20 years ago and hated it...the song, "Hot, Hot, Hot" constantly blared over loud speakers, very crowded, etc. I thought I hated traditional cruises. I meet friends from all over the country in the Caribbean for Windjammer cruises, which I love because of the sailing and casualness. Bill doesn't like them because he has a bad back and there are no cushy places to sit. I also love luxury travel. We took Celebrity's Infinity from San Diego to Fort Lauderdale (trans-canal) a few years ago. We had a Royal Suite and the cruise really exceded our expectations. Last year, over the New Year, we took Celebrity's Mecury from San Diego for an 11 day Mexican Riveria cruise. We also had a Royal Suite but this time the service was horrendous pretty much throughout the ship. Having been in a service based industry, service is very important to me. I wrote Celebrity to complain about specific instances that one wouldn't even expect from a MacDonalds and they sent me back a form letter. At that time, I decided it's time to switch to a more upscale line. So we're booked on the Navigator on February 8th. Sorry about the long intro! :lct:

Greetings Judy and Bill:
Wecome aboard! !
I see you have done Celebrity Cruise Line. That line has a special place in my heart because I fell in love with a Captain's wife and Penny and I correspond with her regularly.
This board is about caring and sharing and I see you're already into that.
Cheers! Ray Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community. (Anthony J. D'Angelo, The College Blue Book )

Welcome Judy & Bill, So good that you found us here!! My husband Tom and I went to South Bend in Oct.,1995 when daughter Gina was a freshman at U.S.C. (University So. Cal) for the Notre Dame vs. USC football game. It POURED rain so hard and we had to resort to purchasing Notre Dame panchos (turned them inside out). Not only were we drenched, USC got their butts kicked!! Hopefully, someday we'll return there under better, dryer circumstances! <img border="0" alt="[jam]" title="" src="graemlins/jammin.gif" /> Your state is beautiful!

Welcome Bill and Judy! I'm sure you'll enjoy the Navigator in Feb. We enjoyed Celebrity 2 years ago but Radisson really spoiled us!

Bill and Judy, a big welcome to you! If you are involved with CASA, I know you are good people. For part of my pro bono work, I helped get them set up locally, and learned a lot about the organization. Back to cruising, Navigator was my first Radisson ship as well! I think you are really going to get hooked on this kind of cruising. And Bill will find plenty of cushy places to sit!

Thanks for the warm welcome! Hope I can contribute as much as you all do.
Would love to do the MINT but isn't it in November? We've cruised around the Christmas holidays two years in a row and I decided this year I want to concentrate more on the holidays. Last year, since we left on December 26th, we didn't even put up a tree. But, we are VERY interested in the safari/cruise!

Judy, MINT is November 12 so it won't interfere with Christmas. Hope you can join us!

Marcie,
If I didn't have 5 million people coming for Thanksgiving, it might be an option. Actually, only have about 25 coming but hope to have my house decorated. Planning on this being a stess-free holiday season! But thanks so much for your invitation.
