Hi! I am new to this site. I am happily married with a husband who hates cruising and a 24 yr. old son who can't afford it! I started sailing with Regent about 3 years ago because the single supplements were affordable. Those were the good old days! I am sailing in Dec. on the Mariner from Aukland and am really looking forward to it. I live in the Dallas area and am 59 years old.

Welcome, Imoon2550. I started with Regent (then Radisson) 13 years ago for the same reason as you. I hope they don't forget that loyal market.

Hello Everyone: My wife and I will be sailing on Regent for the first time over New Years. After having done the 'large' ships, we decided we needed a change. The crowds were just plain getting to us. We look forward to our cruise and hope the Navigator brings us back to the earlier days of cruising when there weren't 3000 or so people on a ship. The all-inclusive sounds very good also.It got old to get nickel and dime'd on the mainstream lines. We have been on Crystal a few times and did enjoy it. However, most of their cruises are too long for us at this time. Can't wait to sail next month!

Welcome to LCT, Meisha! I think you will love your Navigator cruise and you won't have any of the problems that you did with the larger ships. Where are you going on your cruise?

Hello LCT'ers. My name is Chip not Warren. I am a formal cattle rancher turned photographer. I am on The Regent Voyager sitting a Sydney. I starting posting with LTC on the Crystal Serenity inaugural voyage 6 years when LTC started. Sometime my sarcastic New Mexican sense of humor doesn't go over very well and since being a real cowboy who actually had real cows at sometime It can't be helped. I will however try to behave myself. www.wnewton.com is my site.

Since I'm an LCT newbie, I've been prompted by Jim B to do an intro for my wife Theresa and me. Here goes: We're both born-and-raised Philadelphians, now living in Lafayette Hill in neighboring Montgomery County. We're in our early 50s. Theresa's an ER RN; I'm a marketing-communications professional. Had an empty nest for a year until our youngest, Nick, moved himself back home and into the basement a few weekends ago. Our oldest, Gia, is doing a fellowship in Pediatric GI at Johns Hopkins; her husband's a Naval surgeon at Bethesda. They're expecting our first grandchild in April. Our middle one, Lori, is an elementary-school teacher in Bucks County, Pa. Except for a family cruise on Carnival to the Caribbean many years ago, we're new to the "sport." Met many lovely LCTers in December on the Paris-to-Amsterdam river cruise, which we took to commemorate our 30th wedding anniversary. Even renewed our vows at the Cologne Cathedral, but considering all the local fare we consumed, it was less like "For Better or Worse" and more like "For Beignet or Wurst." Contemplating signing on for the 11/11 Barcelona to FLL crossing. Added a photo link. Theresa's the blonde... http://i764.photobucket.com/albums/xx282/markvigg/RedT.jpg

hi all! -
i'm janis and new to this board - my husband, ken, and i have been spoiled on Regent - love it! - we're so excited about our 3rd Mariner cruise this upcoming January -
we've had our 2 15 year olds along with us before, but this time it's just the two of us - they love Regent as well and don't want to cruise any other line anymore -
we're from southwestern Ontario, Canada - ken is a full-time student again after many years of operating our dairy and layer farm - change is good! - i own a fundraising business and mostly deal with schools and service groups -
this board sounds like it's a lot of fun! -

So glad to found a welcoming place to be with 'my people' after being evicted from CC for the capital crime of posting my email address. :(
I have missed talking with all of you about cruising and especially about my favorite ship...the Paul Gauguin. We are going back again this summer with a bunch of friends (some we have only chatted with, others we have know for decades!).
I will do my best behave myself here...I would hate to be sent to chat rehab!

LOL Mtndriver! You can post your email address and pretty much any other info you want, here! You can even mention other sites without getting deleted ;)
We are in sore need of a recent PG review so I am looking forward to your thoughts!

Mntvdriver, I keep up with cc all the time, as that was where many of us started! Sorry I missed all your posts there! Anyway, even though PG is no longer with Regent/Radisson, I would love to hear about your cruise, as I did this several years ago with a couple of my young adult kids!

Welcome Mntvdriver, we're happy you joined us.
Maybe someone can tell me why you're not allowed to post your email address on cc ?? It seems like there are situations where you would want to contact a person directly. Has Host Dan ever stated why this rule ?? I remember once posting my email address and I got hollered at but avoided the "ax".

Host Dan and others were just fine, I never had any problems in about 8 years. Apparently it IS a violation of the ToS to post your email. I did send another poster my address so we could talk off the board about a group that we were putting together (and that CERTAINLY violates the ToS: NO non-CC groups may be discussed).
Anyway...on to more pleasant topics.
Thanks to everyone for the welcome! You already have the PG expert (Wandra) in your midst, but I will be happy to report on more recent sailings. Besides, I DO have about five days more on the PG than her! (you're still invited to our group in June Wendy!). I will do my best to update everyone on the PG as soon as I can, but to sum it up in a couple of sentences:
In most aspects, the PG is exactly what you remember under Regent. Most of our favorite crew are still onboard (well, CD Dionne is on Mariner, I think) and the quality of the food and service is what we are all used to.
When we sailed last June, we were welcomed onboard with a 'Welcome Home' by a couple of crew members who recognized us (we had not be onboard in a couple of years).
While PG did not get the Regent SS Society database, they took my word for my level (Silver at the time) and gave us free Internet and free laundry service. They made us Gold for our next sailing.
On top of PG making us feel so much at home, we also had that magical convergence of a BUNCH of crazy people that made it our favorite cruise of all time. We dubbed our group 'The Villagers' and our 'encampment' on Motu Mahana was our favorite part of the trip.
I said a couple of sentences, and look how I have rambled. I will write up something a little more coherent offline and post it soon.

I'm hardly an expert, MtnDriver, but I do love the ship, as do you.
I'm surprised about the email thing--I put mine into my signature on CC a while back I think, but then moved it into my "Biography" section so that people can find it. It's in the " wendy dot " format, but nobody has slapped my wrists about it.
