My husband and I will be on the Voyager on 8/9 and would like to use Red October for excursions in St. Petersburg. The cost for a private tour with eight people would be $396 per person, six people would be $418 per person. The tour would include sites such as Catherine's Palace, Spilled Blood Church, the Hermitage, Peterhof, etc.

LIsa, is that for 2 full days? My, if not, prices have soared since I was there.

Well, that sounds perfectly reasonable! No way I would ever take a ship's tour here. It is just too efficient to go with a private guide!

Lisa, go for it. It is a much better way to see things.

We enjoyed our tour with Red October. My only suggestion is that if you want to see something special, don't let your guide talk you out of it. We wanted to see the subway and our guide said no. We should have insisted as Ngaire says it is wonderful. Also, our Red October guide pushed their stores and I would have liked to have shopped at the Hermitage store and she rushed us past. I should also have insisted on stopping. You are the customer. Otherwise, we were very pleased. The Hermitage is wonderful and the castles grand.
